WHY DO PEOPLE GHOSTS?
GHOSTING — Ghosting is when someone you’re dating or in a friendship with cut off all communication without any explanation.
Honestly, it’s a very childish, selfish, and cowardly thing to do. Why does it hurt? It hurts because it's a cruel thing to do… it's like a cruel rejection and no Rejection feels good.
People “ghost” others for various reasons, often related to their own emotions, circumstances, or communication styles:
Avoidance of Confrontation**: Some people find it difficult to confront others directly, especially when it comes to uncomfortable topics or ending relationships. Ghosting may feel like an easier way out than having a potentially awkward or emotional conversation.
Conflict Avoidance**: Similar to the above, ghosting can be a way to avoid conflict or disagreement. By disappearing rather than addressing issues, people may hope to prevent arguments or hurt feelings.
Uncertainty or Confusion**: In some cases, individuals might ghost because they are uncertain about their own feelings or intentions. They may withdraw rather than communicate their confusion.
Fear of Rejection**: Some individuals ghost because they fear being rejected themselves. Rather than risk being turned down or…
